Mission Statement

The institution's faculty, administration, and Board of Directors have approved the following mission statement. Chaparral College is an independent, private 4-year college dedicated to meeting the educational needs of those who wish to enhance the quality of their lives. This mission is carried out by successfully applying the following objectives: 1. To offer a curriculum that is evaluated on a continuing basis by instructors, students, business leaders, and the professional community for relevancy and timeliness in an effort to prepare graduates to compete successfully in both the private and public job markets. 2. To provide students the opportunity to develop skills which will enable them to use critical thinking and self-discipline in order to function effectively in society. 3. To develop a student-centered atmosphere that promotes the professionalism, accountability, and cooperation needed by the students to realize their personal, educational, and career goals. 4. To encourage students to gain an appreciation for learning which will enable them to continue to grow personally and professionally throughout their lives. 5. To establish an atmosphere that will encourage all members of the Chaparral College community -- students, faculty, administrators, and staff -- to be active, involved learners.
