About Laboure College

Our college is a small, urban, private, two-year college affiliated with Caritas Christi Health Care. We are located minutes from public transportation on the grounds of Caritas Carney Hospital. With numerous clinical affiliations that include academic medical centers, teaching and community hospitals, the college is committed to preparing its graduates to deliver patient-centered care as valued members of the health care team. We award the associate in science degree in nursing and allied health. Adults and traditional-aged students will find the flexible scheduling, small classes, and personal attention an ideal learning environment. Our campus includes a learning resouces center, student lounges, meeting spaces, as well as shared facilities with the hospital. Our alumni can be found in a wide variety of health care settings, including Boston's finest academic medical centers, teaching hospitals, and numerous health care facilities throughout New England, the nation, and the world. Founded in 1892 and re-established in 1971 with degree-granting authority, the college has an unbroken line of preparing health professionals for practice dating back to the Carney Hospital Training School for Nurses and the Catherine Labouré School of Nursing. The Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul sponsored the educational mission of preparing health care professionals within the Boston area from 1892 until 1997. Caritas Christi Health Care now sponsors the college. Caritas Christi Health Care is the second largest health care system in New England. Association with this major health care system enhances the education and clinical preparation of our students.
