Mission Statement

About Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology

We believe that providing high quality psychological service is a tremendous challenge requiring a solid background, years of supervised experience, and a keen awareness of oneself. MSPP students engage in clinical practice from the first semester to the last, training in well-supervised field placements. Academic courses integrate a broad foundation of psychological theory, current clinical practices, and the social, cultural, and historical contexts of the field. We strive to provide a safe, comfortable, yet challenging learning environment. Specific academic courses provide a forum in which students reflect upon and learn from clinical work experience. We feel that good clinicians must be individuals with well-developed qualities of sensitivity, maturity and self-awareness. Our successful model of education provides a welcoming, collaborative environment that fosters personal, as well as professional growth. Quick Fact: MSPP is a charter member of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology These are challenging times for the profession, but we believe that the new millennium will define roles of increasing responsibility, demand and leadership for psychologists. MSPP is in the forefront of meeting these challenges and needs, and we invite you to join us in this endeavor. The Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (MSPP) is committed to improving the quality of life by training and educating psychology practitioners to be capable of providing high quality human services.
