About Your School of Beauty Culture

Your School of Beauty Culture originated in the city's West Side. The school, then known as Mildred's Beauty College, operated successfully from 1964 until 1979. The founder, Mildred Perkins gave up her school, due to poor health after graduating more than 1,000 cosmetologists. In 1988, the school reopened under new management. Wearing different names over the years, in honor of the community and the students of the college, it became known as Your School of Beauty Culture. In 1997, the school moved to its present location, 116 East Pershing Road, Chicago, Illinois. Your School of Beauty Culture specializes in teaching all phases of beauty culture. The school is known and respected throughout the Chicago area. Its students are trained in the detail and fine art of cosmetology. We also train beauty culture graduates to become highly competent and responsible instructors.
