A career in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering allows you to apply your experience and education towards a vocation in this dynamic, scientific field of endeavor. Find both online and campus based chemistry and chemical engineering schools, courses or classes that award a variety of diplomas, degrees or certificates for successful completion.
Chemistry is the science of the composition, structure, properties, and reactions of matter, especially of atomic and molecular systems.
Chemical Engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the application of physical science (e.g. chemistry and physics), along with mathematics, to the process of converting raw materials or chemicals into more useful or valuable forms. As well as producing useful materials, chemical engineering is also concerned with pioneering valuable new materials and techniques; an important form of research and development. A person employed in this field is called a chemical engineer.

Biomedical Engineers Apply knowledge of engineering, biology, and biomechanical principles to the design, development, and evaluation of biological and health systems and products, such as artificial organs, prostheses, instrumentation, medical information systems, and health management and care delivery systems. Chemical Engineers Design chemical plant equipment and devise processes for manufacturing chemicals and products, such as gasoline, synthetic rubber, plastics, detergents, cement, paper, and pulp, by applying principles and technology of chemistry, physics, and engineering. Chemists Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses or chemical experiments in laboratories for quality or process control or to develop new products or knowledge. Chemical Technicians Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials for purposes, such as research and development of new products or processes, quality control, maintenance of environmental standards, and other work involving experimental, theoretical, or practical application of chemistry and related sciences. Government Workers A very broad category that includes judicial system, education, law enforcement, public transportation, and other public-service and federally-funded careers. Scientific Engineering and Technical Services Whether it is a computer screen or an airplane engine or a bridge, someone has to decide how big it will be and how it will work. The men and women in the scientific, engineering, and technical services field create the designs and draw up the plans that determine how things will be built. This program will offer insights into the jobs of a civil engineer, an electronics technician, a hazardous waste technician, and a water and liquid waste treatment plant and systems operator. Chemical Equipment Operators and Controllers Operate or tend equipment to control chemical changes or reactions in the processing of industrial or consumer products. Equipment used includes devulcanizers, steam-jacketed kettles, and reactor vessels.
