May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. Computer Operators Monitor and control electronic computer and peripheral electronic data processing equipment to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions. May enter commands at a computer terminal and set controls on computer and peripheral devices. Monitor and respond to operating and error messages. Computer, Automated Teller, and Office Machine Repairers Repair, maintain, or install computers, word processing systems, automated teller machines, and electronic office machines, such as duplicating and fax machines. Government Workers A very broad category that includes judicial system, education, law enforcement, public transportation, and other public-service and federally-funded careers. Wholesale and Retail Sales Retail/Wholesale Sales and Service is comprised of courses and/or programs relating to planning, managing and performing wholesaling and retailing services and related marketing and distribution support services including merchandise/product management and promotion. A Help Desk technician can be on the front lines, answering questions from customers for a software development firm, or behind the scenes, serving the employees of a large corporation.
